Since California is not a state known for a lot of rain, most drivers appear to “forget” how to drive when the first raindrops hit the ground. To help everyone remain safe during the rainy season, here are some tips on how to drive safely during winter rains. Make sure your tires are in good shape. When it doubt, bring your vehicle to our auto repair team for a visual tire inspection. If we see that your tires are wearing unevenly, the air in them is low, or that you could benefit from a tire rotation, we’ll let you know. Tires are a critical safety feature on wet roads because the deep tire tread does a better job of cutting through the water and reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Check your brakes. Your car’s brakes should be in good shape if you want your vehicle to stop safely and on short notice. When you hear squeaking or grinding when you apply the brake pedal, be sure to head straight to the auto repair team of Foreign Autohaus. We will perform a bra ... read more

It’s mind blowing how ADAS systems have the potential to help society with the following travel issues: Drive a blind person to the doctor’s office without the need for a hired driver. Reduce the risk of human-induced accidents. Drive children back and forth to school without having to disrupt the parents’ work days. Cars that park themselves while the family goes shopping. Cargo trucks driving cross-country to deliver goods without the need of a driver. Improved ability to study, work, and sleep while riding in a car. While this is incredi ... read more

You've probably heard the term before - factory recommended maintenance - but may not be exactly sure what this means. Most vehicle owners understand that their cars need proper maintenance and regular service to run well throughout the years, however, factory recommended maintenance isn't a term you hear as much unless you're at the car dealership. Factory recommended maintenance is just as it sounds - it is maintenance items that the manufacturer of your vehicle recommends. These recommendations are based often times on warranty and also just on the lifetime of certain parts or fluids used in your car. These maintenance recommendations will usually be based on mileage intervals, but can also be based on time periods. The factory recommedations will be located in your vehicle's owner's manual, but can also often times be found online or at an auto repair shop. By following these recommendations, you will keep your vehicle under warranty (if applicable ... read more

While you could use a quick lube faciltiy for an oil change, there are many reasons not to. Most european manufacturers are very specific about the oil specification, and in some cases, oil filters and filter material, to be used in their vehicles. The technicians at Foreign Autohäus are trained to know exactly what oil should be used for each marque. Additionally, there are other benefits to using our services instead of a quick lube facility. Our technicians will take the time to make sure all of your fluids are topped off, and will do a cursory check of the vehicle to alert you of any concerns that may be starting to manifest. At a quick lube facility, their objective is to move as many cars through as they can on a daily basis. All they are performing is an oil change, and if you're lucky, topping off of the other fluids. They don't have the expertise or time to spot a potential problem arising

At Foreign Autohäus, we only use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. These are the same parts used by the dealer, or available for purchase at the dealer over their parts counter. It is our belief, these parts offer the best value for the money, as we know they will work, are approved by the vehicle manufacturer, and fit before we remove the old part

There are many reasons to consider using an independent shop like Foreign Autohäus. Cost is probably the most important. Generally, an independent facility will be substantially less expensive than a dealership. Dealerships have extremely high overhead that must be passed on to the customer; an independent shop's overhead will be substantially less. Foreign Autohäus uses the same diagnostic equipment as the dealership, employs only highly skilled and certified technicians, (just like a dealership), and only uses Origingal Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. These are the same parts you would buy if you went into the deaership and bought them at the parts counter. We use OEM parts because we know they wlll work and fit everytime
